The Definition of Comparison Degree

Comparison Degree merupakan istilah dalam grammar Bahasa Inggris untuk menunjukkan perbandingan. Dalam Comparison Degree, adjective (kata sifat) atau adverb (kata keterangan) akan mengalami perubahan bentuk sesuai dengan tingkatan perbandingannya. Oleh karena itu, Comparison Degree bisa juga disebut sebagai Tingkatan Perbandingan.

Comparison Degree digunakan ketika hendak membandingkan satu hal dengan hal yang lain, seperti orang, hewan, tumbuhan, benda.

Positive Degree

Comparative degree

S (pertama) + to be + Adjective + - er + than + S (kedua)

S (pertama) + to be + more + Adjective + than + S (kedua)

S (pertama) + V + Adverb - er + than + S (kedua) + V

S (pertama) + V + more + adverb + than + S (kedua) + V

 

Superlative degree

S (pertama) + to be + the Adjective + - est + O

S (pertama) + V+ the Adverb + - est + O
